Artist Statement

I guess I’m still that kid who sees something cool that he likes and say “hey, I want to do that!” and proceeds to do it. For me, it’s in the context of action manga. I’ve became interested in shonen manga when I began reading them, and it grew into much more into my own personal collection: a bunch of action, gritty and intense manga such as One-Punch Man and Vagabond. I’m still that kid who likes shonen manga and gets easily inspired and keeps moving forward.

To describe my work, I think it’s more about sharing my inspirations and expressing what I love. I have characters in my head that often battle each other within my head, and they act on the paper from time to time. Drawing them is what makes it fun.

What I want my audience to get from my work is to experience this kind of rush that I feel when I draw on paper. Characters fighting against each other, panel borders and camera angles at odd angles, hundreds of lines to convey movement and impact. I’m still the same kid who is still inspired looking at the drawings I like. I’m just an older version of that kid.
