Artist Statement
Oceans are the most beautiful and precious things we have on Earth. They are the lifeblood of our planet and home to many sea creatures. Yet, as a society, we keep failing the oceans. With the levels of pollution rising each year, many species of animals become endangered. From individual carelessness to big corporations releasing poisonous substances into the oceans, the once blooming ocean environment turns into a lifeless desert. In my series, I wanted to bring awareness to the issue, as I consider the death of our oceans to be an urgent situation which needs to be addressed.
The illustrations are done in a children’s books style and are meant to be viewed by children to teach them about pollution.
