LOST IN THOUGHT

My work symbolizes my wild mind on the feeling of anxiety enclosed within chaos. I often feel like I am running a never-ending marathon. On the other hand, being swallowed by the vast ocean of my thoughts. My mind often wonders what the future might hold, making the present unenjoyable. Fear fueled by loneliness or the silence of a room. Voices begin to overwhelm me taking control over my senses.

Gaining back control over my mind, creating something that I am proud to call my own with no interference or the thought of uncertainty. My faith has brought me through the journey and guided me to a place I feel welcomed.

Growing up, I noticed that mental health is taboo to talk about within my family as it is often seen as a weakness. In my work, I want to explore the idea of the gradual process of healing the generation’s traumas within my own life, using nature as inspiration. I enjoy painting with acrylic gouache, mixing with other mediums as I can easily portray my ideas in that form.
