Artist Statement
I love playful representations and whimsical characters in humorous settings. My work is inspired by my life experiences and especially by observing those fleeting moments during the day where a family member or a friend perform an action or say something that causes an involuntary funny outcome. Collecting these snippets in my mind and then revisiting them later is the highlight of my day, especially because they often foster new ideas to explore.
Eventually, these inspirers help me to achieve my main goal, which is to tell a story with my illustrations, even if it’s hidden and need a bit of perusing: I challenge you to search for the hidden meaning within these four artworks, my childish spirit that is always there ready to be found by a keen eye. What shape will it take?
