Artist Statement
Melanie Colmenar, aka Mel, is a Canadian-based illustrator who creates lively illustrations and manga-like comic works that explore everyday life. She fills viewers with joy with her soothing yet vibrant colour palettes that give her personal works a lovely and cute touch that correspond to her personality. A graduate of Seneca College Illustration, Mel finds herself touching on everyday relatable humor in her narratives for all to enjoy, because one can never go wrong with a good laugh.
