INTRO
This visual series addresses an overlooked feature of our lives. Water. Especially for me, the seaside was an escape from my anxiety growing up. I would imagine that the sea was listening to me when I talked to her. Slowly visualized her as a humanized version of water, showing how she helped me through my childhood and early teenage years.

Alma
I imagine her to be fierce with an air of mystery and intrigue while being nurturing and motherly at the same time. She doesn’t want to be disturbed but enjoys the company of humans passing by on their boats.
She helped me mature.

Somnium
Imagine living in a world where you can swim with dolphins, see schools of fish swimming by your window, and witness the breathtaking beauty of coral reefs every day. It was the daydream I had with her when I was overwhelmed with anxiety.
She gave me comfort.

Salve
When I was young, my mom told me everyone would die one day. I remember not being able to grasp the concept of death and crying for hours. But like the shells in the sea, no matter how many lives are created, none are forgotten.
She taught me to let go.

Memento Vivere
The world we know is only what we experience in our lives. We, humans, grow up, struggle to find meaning in our lives and eventually pass away, leaving our legacy behind. We keep living this cycle of life, dawn and dusk, and might as well have fun.
She made me see the bigger picture.
