Artist Statement

Life in a cage called “Motherhood”

When I became a mom, I felt cut off from my friends, my job, and the things I loved doing. My art comes from my own experience as a mom, showing what moms everywhere go through. It’s about feeling lonely in motherhood. I felt like nobody who didn’t have kids could understand what I was going through. I think a lot of moms feel this way too. We’re stuck at home with endless chores, while it seems like everyone else is out there succeeding in their careers. We’re also tight on money, and sometimes people think we’re being cheap because we can’t spend like we used to. It’s like being trapped in a cage called Motherhood.

My art is simply talking about feminism and mental health issues among moms. I want to shed light on the struggle and silence many mothers face, see the real side of motherhood, not just the pretty pictures we see online. I hope my art helps people see the challenges all moms encounter, offering understanding and support.
