Childhood Imaginary Design

The core idea for my series, “Childhood Imaginary Design”, is a focus on my personal childhood love of science fiction and robots. My inspiration is the Japanese animation show called “Mobile Suit Gundam” or “Gundam”, which first started in 1979. The show presents giant robots piloted by human. Gundam was a quite unique show at that time because its main concept is realism. The Gundam series that inspired me was “Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn” in 2006. The first time I watched it, I was inspired to think about the realistic rendering of robot. This led me to ask how would the giant robot would work in real work. It was designed to be war weapons, so it should have a military design. Because of love for this animation series, I want to develop visual for my own robot. And, For my interpretation of this idea. I created the 4-four pieces with ink and watercolour on hot press watercolour paper. I use this media because I am most comfortable with the way of rendering my ideas. The watercolour technique allows a happy-accident to happen, which it produced unpredicted results.
